We’re so excited to launch the Poppins Referral Program, a fun and rewarding way for both employers and employees to share the Poppins love and do things the right way. Whether you’re helping a fellow family stay tax-compliant or bringing Poppins to your next job, everyone wins.

Think of it as a little thank you from us to you for spreading the word about Poppins. You help others skip the tax-time headaches, and you earn rewards along the way. Win-win!

For employers: Share Poppins, earn free months

Here’s how it works

  • Your reward: For each successful referral, you’ll receive one free month of Poppins service (a $49 value). Referral rewards will be automatically applied to your account — no codes or extra steps needed
  • Their reward: The new family gets all the perks of Poppins — payroll done right, taxes handled on time, total peace of mind. Plus, they get an additional free month when they subscribe with your link as a new Poppins customer.
  • Unlimited referrals: Refer as many families as you’d like, and stack your free months.

When to refer? There’s never a bad time to refer—whether it’s tax season or anytime a family is looking for help with payroll. If you know another parent, share your link with a friend who also has a nanny or caregiver. When they sign up, you get a free month of Poppins.

Employer FAQ

  • Who can I refer? Any family with a nanny, caregiver or other household employee who isn’t already using Poppins. Referrals must be setting up a new account with Poppins (not reactivating a past account) and they must continue into their first paid month to qualify.
  • How do I share? Log in to your dashboard, grab your referral link, and send it their way
  • When do I get rewarded? Anyone who signs up for Poppins gets the remainder of their first month free as part of the free trial. To qualify for the referral bonus (and for you to get your bonus), they would need to complete their first paid month. In most cases, that means 1–2 months after they completed their onboarding, based on when in the month they signed up.
  • Is there a limit? No! Every successful referral = one free month for you.
  • Does my referral ever expire? Nope! Once someone clicks your referral link, it’s tied to you — whether they sign up right away or months down the road, you’ll still get the credit (and the reward) when they become a paying Poppins customer.

For employees: Spread the word, share the perks

From nannies to caregivers, household employees like you have always played a big role in making sure families pay fairly and legally. Now, we’re making sure you’re rewarded too. As a current Poppins user, you can share your referral link with families — and earn when they join.

When to refer:

  •  You start with a new family: Bring your referral link to your next job. When the family signs up, you earn your reward.
  •  You want your current family to pay legally: Share your link, they join Poppins, and you get rewarded — and, as always, they get their first month of Poppins free.
  •  Tell a friend who’s also a caregiver: Pass along your link. If their family signs up, you earn your reward.

Here’s how it works:

  •  Your reward: Earn a $100 gift card via email when your referred employer signs up and pays their first invoice with Poppins.
  •  Annual cap: Employees can earn up to $500 in rewards per calendar year.
  •  Eligibility: You must be a current Poppins user to refer. Referrals must be setting up a new account with Poppins (not reactivating a past account) and they must continue into their first paid month to qualify.
  •  Bring Poppins to your next job: Switching families? Share your link with your new employer and earn when they join.

Employee FAQ

  • Do I need to use Poppins to earn rewards? Yes — you need to be a current Poppins employee to participate.
  • Who can I refer? Any family with a nanny or household employee who isn’t already using Poppins. Referrals must be setting up a new account with Poppins (not reactivating a past account) and they must continue into their first paid month to qualify.  
  • How do I share? You’ll have a personal referral link (available via your Poppins Cubby if you’re an active employee).  
  • When do I get rewarded? Every new family gets their first month of Poppins free whether they are a referral or not. Since new families get their first month free, most rewards arrive about two months after you share your link and they complete sign-up.  
  • How will I get rewarded? You’ll receive your referral reward as a digital gift card by email. Keep an eye on your inbox — it’ll arrive once your referral’s first paid month is complete.  
  • What’s the cap? You can earn up to $500 in referral rewards per year (5 successful referrals).  
  • Does my referral ever expire? Nope! Once someone clicks your referral link, it’s tied to you — whether they sign up right away or months down the road, you’ll still get the credit (and the reward) when they become a paying Poppins customer.
